Learning to Honor with Heart
A love letter to those who serve.
A clinically grounded, deeply human book about the cost of service — and what it asks of all of us. Built for civilians, leaders, and anyone who has ever said “thank you” without quite knowing what it meant.
Mission: 100% of proceeds support veteran mental health programs.

Honored with the Outstanding Literary Achievement award in Psychology — Social Psychology & Interpersonal Behavior, January 2026.

"I am delighted to extend my heartfelt congratulations on being selected as a winner of the International Impact Book Awards. This award is a testament to the impact your story carries. Your voice, perspective, and willingness to share your work contributes meaningfully to the literary world and to the communities touched by your message."

the morning this chapter began —
Most of Thank You for Your Service was written longhand — fountain pen, paper, a cup of tea going cold beside me. Some pages came easily. Some I rewrote a dozen times. Every one of them was written for someone real: a veteran I'd sat with, a family member who'd asked a question I couldn't stop thinking about, a leader trying to do right by the people they serve.
Part self-help, part conversational guide — opening a bigger dialogue on veterans, our place in the country, and mental health not as a singular veterans' issue but as an emerging healthcare crisis we all share.
"I felt an immediate connection in my first telephone conversation with Madhuri. I was drawn by her intellectual curiosity and earnest desire to learn about Veterans. What set her apart was her ability to truly listen. This book is insightful. It is for everyone — the Veteran, the family member, and the citizen. Thank you, Madhuri!"
"This book will help civilians deepen the meaning behind the thanks we give our soldiers and veterans. Having knowledge of how to support our loved ones who experience this invisible battle every day can help guide others—and eventually our society—toward a true understanding of the words, 'Thank you for your service.'"
"Dearest Madhuri, I applaud your fierce spirit. I can feel the inspiration and the power behind it, for wholeness, health, and touching the tender parts in this book."
"Fantastic book, well written. It is one of the greatest tributes to war veterans. No other book ventures into the area of the post-effects of war on these soldiers and how citizens and family members can help them process and heal from their traumas. War can be brutal and peace is the eternal choice. I also got to learn so many techniques of self-healing and therapies (EMDR, etc.) that can help us in day-to-day life."
